Australia wants deeper economic ties with India: Albanese
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said Australia wanted closer economic ties with India. In a statement issued after bilateral talks with PM Modi, Albanese said, Modi's visit to Australia has further strengthened the close India-Australia relationship. "It is a relationship in which we need to invest," he said. Albanese said, a strong partnership with India is beneficial for Australia in terms of trade, investment, regional security and stability.
■ Describing the relationship with India as important, Albanese said, Australia is becoming better because of the contribution of the Indian-Australian community. He said that the relations between the countries should be further deepened. At the same time, in another statement, Albanese told that Parramatta has been made a new center for relations between the two countries. This center will deepen the engagement between the two countries through trade, policy and cultural activities.
In the meeting, both the leaders discussed in detail the issues of defence-security, trade-investment, new and renewable energy, green hydrogen, vital minerals, education, migration and mobility. At the end of the meeting, the two leaders committed to broaden and strengthen the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, discussing the usefulness of the first India-Australia Annual Summit held in Delhi in March. India's External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval also participated in the meeting.
Agreement on easy movement of students and professionals
Migration and Mobility Partnership Arrangement (MMPA) i.e. signing of both migration and mobility partnership arrangements. Welcomed by the leaders. In this arrangement, the movement of Indian students, professionals, researchers and academics to Australia will be made easier under the Mobility Arrangement for Talented Early Professional Scheme (MATS).
Hydrogen task force agreed in search of clean fuel
The two leaders also welcomed the finalization of the terms and conditions of the India-Australia Hydrogen Task Force (IAHTF). This will help in the creation and use of clean hydrogen. Especially it will be easy to prepare the infrastructure of hydrogen electrolyzer and fuel cells.

Australia's Chief Opposition Leader Peter Dutton met PM Modi. Describing Modi as a great friend of the country, the Liberal Party leader said, it is a matter of pride that the relations between the two countries have grown rapidly under Modi's leadership, rising above political differences.
