Russia's eminent thinker Tolstoy saw during his Europe tour that great intellectuals were influenced by the literature written by him. His reputation is reaching its peak. In his autobiography Confession, he has written, ecstatic with fame, this curiosity arose in my mind that does a man's life become meaningful by getting fame, money, opulence? I used to think whether all these things can prevent death? Why does man take birth? Why is it won? What is the meaning of his life? These questions kept troubling my mind.   

                     Tolstoy studied the Gita and other scriptures. they realized that                               The meaning of life lies in action. A farmer does manual labor by reaching the field every day, regardless of the weather. Even if the crop is not as desired, he does not regret his hard work. He has the ability to bear all kinds of suffering without panic.                                                     

Tolstoy considered Karma as the true religion of man. He was greatly influenced by the main sources of Indian culture, the spirit of truth, non-violence, compassion. He wrote, only by helping others and being a participant in their suffering, a human gets true spiritual peace.
