a glass of milk
Once a boy went door to door selling some things to pay his school fees due to poverty. One day even after roaming around all day, none of his goods were sold. He was also feeling very hungry. But he had nothing to eat. He thought that whatever door he would go to now. There he will ask for food.
He went outside a house and knocked on the door. As soon as he knocked on the door, a girl opened the door. Seeing whom he got scared for a moment. Due to the same nervousness, instead of eating, he asked for a glass of water to drink.
The girl had guessed by looking at the boy's face that he was hungry. So she brought a big glass of milk. The boy did not understand anything.
“Drink, it is for you only.” When the girl said this, the boy slowly drank all the milk.
"How much money should I pay?" the boy asked.
"Money for what?" The girl replied," Mother has taught me that whenever you show kindness to someone, you should not take his money."
"Then I thank you from the bottom of my heart." As soon as the boy left that house, drinking milk had not only strengthened him physically but also increased his faith in God and man.
Years after this incident had passed, one day that girl fell seriously ill. If his treatment could not be possible in the local hospital, the doctor sent him to the big hospital in the city for treatment.
The condition was so bad that specialist Dr. Howard Kelly was called to see the patient. Howard Kelley arrives at the hospital and obtains the patient's information. As soon as he read the name of the girl's town, his eyes lit up. He immediately got up from the seat and went to that girl's room.
He saw that girl, immediately recognized her and decided that he would unite heaven and earth to save her life. His hard work and dedication paid off and that girl's life was saved. When the girl was completely cured, the doctor went to the hospital's office and took the bill for the girl's treatment. Wrote a note in the corner of that bill and sent it to that girl.
The girl got scared seeing the envelope of the bill, she knew that she was saved from the disease but the amount of the bill would definitely kill her. Still she slowly opened the bill, looked at the amount and then suddenly her eyes went to the note written in pen in the corner of the bill, where it was written.
The bill has been paid by a glass of milk."
At the bottom was the signature of Dr. Howard Kelly. Tears rolled down her cheeks from the eyes of that girl with joy and wonder. She raised both her hands upwards and said,
" Hey, God! Thank you very much, your love has spread far and wide through the hearts and hands of humans.
We get the fruits of our actions. Sometimes we get the results quickly and sometimes it takes a long time. But we should do our deeds with honesty and integrity. We will definitely get its benefit by walking in the future.
