She was the first woman in America to die of typhoid. But the people there think that she is not dead but still wanders in the same hospital as a spirit where she once died.
This is the reason that people recognize her even after her death and Mary Mellon, a resident of America, is better known by the name of Typhoid Mary.
Mary was sent to an island hospital after suffering from typhoid where she died. People coming to the island say that this place is cursed, they hear people screaming and crying out of pain from here, but do not dare to kill even a bird at this place.
It is notable that the deadly disease like typhoid was being recognized in the year 1906 and in the year 1907, when the local health workers went door-to-door to check the health of the people under their routine schedule, they found Mary fit at first sight. But no one understood that typhoid had made a home in Mary's body.
And while typhoid is a disease spread by infection, then through Mary, this disease caught her daughter and the mistress of the house where Mary used to work as a cook. Out of 11 people living in the house where Mary used to work, 6 got typhoid and Mary's body was completely infected, so Mary was sent alone to North Brother Island.
There she was kept in a hospital where no facilities of any kind were available and Mary died of grief due to loneliness and lack of facilities. You will not believe, but because of Mary, 51 other people were also in the grip of typhoid. There were many deaths in this hospital and the reason for all was typhoid disease.
In the year 1963, this hospital was closed only because people started finding this place a haunted place.
