last attempt story

Once upon a time. A majestic king used to rule in a kingdom. One day a foreign visitor came to his court and presented a beautiful stone to the king. The king was very happy to see that stone. He decided to build an idol of Lord Vishnu from that stone and install it in the temple of the state and handed over the task of making the idol to the general secretary of the state.

The General Secretary went to the best sculptor of the village and gave him the stone and said, “The Maharaj wants to install the idol of Lord Vishnu in the temple. Prepare an idol of Lord Vishnu from this stone within seven days and send it to the palace. For this you will be given 50 gold coins. The sculptor became happy after hearing about 50 gold coins and after the departure of the General Secretary, he took out his tools with the aim of starting the construction work of the statue. He took a hammer from his tools and started hitting the stone with a hammer to break it. But the stone remained as it was. The sculptor made several blows of the hammer on the stone. But the stone did not break.

After trying fifty times, the sculptor raised the hammer for the purpose of making the last attempt, but before hitting the hammer, he pulled his hand thinking that when the stone did not break after hitting it fifty times, then what will break now. He went back to the General Secretary with the stone and returned it saying that it is impossible to break this stone. That's why the idol of Lord Vishnu cannot be made from it. The General Secretary had to fulfill the order of the king in every situation. So he entrusted the work of making the idol of Lord Vishnu to a simple sculptor of the village. Taking the stone, the sculptor hit it with a hammer in front of the General Secretary and the stone broke at once. After breaking the stone, the sculptor started making the statue. Here the General Secretary started thinking that if only the first sculptor had made one last attempt, he would have been successful and would have been entitled to 50 gold coins.

lesson

Friends, we also keep coming across such situations in our life. Many times, before doing any work or before solving any problem, our confidence gets shaken and we give up without trying. Many times we stop trying further after getting failure in one or two attempts. While it is possible that with some more effort, the work would have been completed or the problem would have been resolved. If you want to achieve success in life, then you should not stop trying even after repeated failures until success is achieved. Who knows, the effort which we pull our hands before making it, may be our last effort and we will get success in it.
