The jeweler's donkey was proud of the fact that he was carrying gold ornaments and diamond jewels. He was humiliating the ass of the iron merchant again and again with his words. The iron merchant's donkey was feeling very bad, but he was silently listening to the jeweler's donkey.
Suddenly the bandits surrounded them. On seeing the dacoits, both the merchants ran away leaving their donkeys in fear. The robbers started looking at the goods loaded on the backs of the donkeys. He saw that iron rods were loaded on the iron merchant's donkey. Not seeing the valuables, they chased him away. The jeweler's donkey had valuables on its back. They grabbed him and started taking valuables from his back.
Whenever the donkey protests, they beat him a lot with sticks. The proud donkey had got the fruits of his pride.
