True incident: The ghostly story of Mohniya Valley, the soul was shaken that day

This story is from the border of Rewa and Sidhi district of Madhya Pradesh, between these two districts there is a valley, it is known as Mohania Valley. This is a very secluded valley, it is through this valley that the people of Rewa go straight and the people of Sidhi come to Rewa.

It takes 40 to 60 minutes to cross this valley. This valley looks scary even during the day, there are deadly turns here, due to which fatal accidents keep happening in this valley. The government is tough on crime, that's why there are not many crimes here now, but once upon a time incidents of looting used to be a common thing here. Although even now a couple of crimes happen here.

Venturing out of this valley at night can prove to be a foolhardy and life-threatening task. This is how our elders used to explain to us and we used to follow this thing very carefully. But once in the month of August I had to go straight for some important work, it was 12 in the night, I am a little timid person, so I was a little scared. But it was very important to go, so I had to go, assuming that I told my problem to a friend and asked him to go along and after a lot of excuses he agreed to go along.

I had Hero's HF Deluxe bike, in that both of us left the house at 12:12 in the night to go straight. I was driving, and my friend was sitting in the back seat. He was going with me reluctantly, as he too was afraid to cross the Mohania valley at night. It was a long time ago, some people of his village were coming to Rewa through this valley, but they went missing and their whereabouts were not known. The village believes that the ghosts roaming in this valley at night had taken those people with them. My friend once narrated this story to me, that's why both of us were remembering that story again and again and that's why we were scared.

Me and my friend both of us sat on the bike and left for Sidhi, after half an hour that scary valley was in front of us, now we had to cross that valley, no one was visible far and wide, neither was anyone coming. The vehicle was not visible nor was any vehicle moving. There was total darkness and silence.

We plucked up courage and proceeded to cross that Mohania valley, now we were on that hilly Numa valley, the path was very narrow, on one side there were high mountains and thick trees growing in them, and on the other side there was a ditch. In this way we started crossing Mohania valley. Mohania Valley has many twists and turns which are very scary and also dangerous. Only then I saw from the mirror of my bike that a bike was coming from behind, so we were satisfied that we are not alone here. In a short while that bike passed by our side. A man around the age of 40 is sitting in it, a woman was also sitting with him. Her pallu was flying in the air, I thought that her pallu might get stuck in the car and both of them might meet with an accident. That's why I increased the speed of the car and came in line with them and said to the woman sitting behind - "Sister, your pallu is flying in the air, lest it gets stuck in the car, then you handle it."

Saying this I went ahead. My friend was scolding me that what was the need so late at night, to do social service, don't know who are the unknown people, why are you talking to strangers at night in an unknown and scary place.

I was driving listening to her talk and feeling the scary trees around and the deserted mountain feeling scared inside. That's why again the same bike rider came in front of me while driving his car with speed. This time no woman was sitting behind him. A sense of fear could be seen on the face of that biker and here both me and my friend got scared as to why the lady who was with him a while back was not sitting with him. Strange thoughts started coming in our mind and started raising questions as to what happened to that woman.

We immediately asked the biker that where is the woman who was with you? That bike owner also said with surprise that I was going alone, no one was with me. As soon as he said like this, we both became friends and got scared. I started looking at my friend and my friend started looking at me. We both stopped our car and I insisted to that unknown motorcyclist - "Are you telling the truth or lying?"

He swore by his Mother India that – “I was going alone towards Sidhi, when you told me to fix the pallu, I was shocked and so I have come to you to confirm that you have taken care of me. Who have you seen?

Hearing this, me and my friend also swore to that bike owner that - "We had seen a woman sitting behind in your car."

Now all three of us were scared, then we heard a loud laugh and when we looked in the direction of the laugh, we found that there was a huge Peepal tree. A human figure was sitting in that huge peepal tree, whose loud laughter was heard even here. All three of us got scared and quickly started our car and started driving indiscriminately.

Whenever another motorcyclist came at our level, then we would see that woman sitting on his bike and out of fear, we would speed up our car and drive her away. The driver was also aware of the situation and therefore he was also trying to increase the speed of his vehicle and stay close to us every time. After about half an hour of struggle, we had reached the other side of the Mohania valley.

There is a very popular Hanuman temple on the other side of the Mohania valley, as soon as we reached there the shadow of that ghost had gone away from us. Our car which was running heavy, now it started running fine again, we all stayed in the temple till morning and only after 5:00 am we left for further journey. From that day onwards, I never go through Mohania valley late at night.

This temple on the other side of the Mohania valley is a very old Hanuman temple. When we were staying at that temple, an elderly priest told that there is a ghost living in the Mohania valley, which is not fatal, but disturbs the travelers passing through the hill at night. He also told an anecdote that once a person was going from Mohania Valley to Rewa directly, that ghost used to spoil that vehicle with her illusion, after which it took the cartman 3 hours to cross the entire valley. After listening to this anecdote, now I choose day time to go straight and if I have to go after 10:00 pm, I try my best not to go through there.

But many times such situations come when we are forced to go, as I had to go once again, so I carried a statue of Hanuman ji in my car.I take photos and keep reciting Hanuman Chalisa in my mind while crossing the hill, so somehow I never got a bad chance to see that ghost again.

Now the Modi government has made a tunnel there, due to which one does not have to choose the way to Mohniyan Valley. The entire valley is crossed in just 4 minutes from the tunnel built in the Mohniyan Valley, apart from this, adequate security arrangements have been made there. Recently I went straight at 11 in the night, through the tunnel in 4 minutes I went to Mohniyan valley and I could not find any soul.
