FPI invested 37,317 crores

 

Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) continued to invest in domestic equity markets on the back of better corporate financials, positive macro-economic outlook and expectations of a normal monsoon. According to National Securities Depository Ltd (NSDL), FPIs in domestic Have invested Rs 37.317 crores in equity markets.On account of continuous investment from last three months, FPIs have become early buyers in 2023 and have made net investment of Rs.22.736 crores so far this year.

According to the data, this is the highest investment by FPIs in the domestic equity markets in the last nine months. FPIs had earlier invested Rs 51,204 crore in equity markets in August 2022. In November 2022 also, FPI had invested Rs 36.239 crore in equity. However, in 2022 FPI

There were net sales and withdrawal of over Rs 1.21 lakh crore from the equity markets. Anuj Gupta, Vice President, IIFL Securities, says that there is an atmosphere of uncertainty in the US and other global markets. For this reason, India for FPI investment

are turning to. Apart from this, India's political and economic stability is also attracting FPIs. According to Gupta, there are a lot of investment opportunities available in India. Due to this, FPI investment is continuously increasing there. FPI investment may continue in the coming times as well.

Continued investment in debt funds as well

Apart from the domestic market, FPIs are also continuously investing in debt funds. FPIs have invested in four out of the first five months of 2023, while withdrawals have taken place in one month. In 2023, FPIs have made a net investment of Rs 6.847 crore in debt funds.
