In the final of IPL, Dhoni's superkings for the 10th time

Now Gujarat will have to play the winner of the match between Lucknow and Mumbai in Qualifier-2 to enter the final. Shubman Gill and skipper Hardik Pandya did not increase the pace of runs, but Mahish Nepa (8) was caught by Jadeja at point in the sixth over. Gujarat's score in the powerplay was 41 for two. Dasun Shanaka hit Tikshna for a six in the 10th over.

After this, Rashid scored 39 runs in sixes and fours, but Shankar (14) was dismissed in the 18th over on a brilliant catch by Gaikwad, after which Nalkade was also dismissed. Deshpande ended Gujarat's hopes in the 19th over by dismissing Rashid, who scored 30 off 15 balls.


No ball cost Gaikwad dearly

Earlier, Hardik Pandya won the toss and invited Chennai to bat. Playing the first match of the season, Darshan Nalak Dey dismissed Rituraj on the third ball of the second over. He was on two runs but it turned out to be a no ball. On the next free hit ball, Gaikwad hit a six and then a four. This no-ball cost Gujarat dearly. It was Gaikwad who led Chennai to 49 for no loss in the powerplay, with his contribution being a 26-ball 33. Devon Kahn was not getting many chances. Gaikwad then completed his 14th IPL and fourth half-century of the season in 36 balls.
